In Eastern semfinals action, the Warriors had to travel to Nepean to take on the Knights. Despite some injuries and battered bodies, the Warriors put up a good fight. However, the Warriors would fall to the Knights in three straight. The entire team put up a valiant effort, and refused to give up down to the last buzzer.

After a great summer, all of the players deserve praise and credit for their first season of the pandemic break. However, the Warriors would like to highlight the 4 graduating players this year.

Adam Smellie played a large part of the team’s success this year. During his junior career, he had been asked to play a number of different roles, and spent his time jumping between offence, defence and transition. Adam should heart and passion on every possession, and was integral to every part of the Warriors success this year.

Matt Cornish has been an offensive leader for the Warriors his entire 3 years with the Warriors. Ending his career with the Warriors 4th highest point total, Matt played his career as a savvy and zealous player. He battled through a number of injuries, but refused to quit in every game.

Jackson Moroz has been a defensive staple for the Warriors. The on-floor leader always had the game under control. In each game he played, he proved to be the heart of the back end, and helped ensure his teammates found success. He was always focused on team success.

Smellie, Cornish and Moroz were all a part of the undefeated 2019 team.

Lastly, Connor Curtis was an important part of the leadership group this year. This was his first and final year of junior lacrosse. He battled his entire career, and this year was no different. Held out most of the year due to injury, and played the entire playoffs in the same situation, Connor was determined to make an impact. His leadership in the locker room was unmatched. He continued to push his teammates to strive for success, and it was evident that the young core resonated with his dedication.

All four graduating players are an integral part to the Warriors success. They have helped build the culture, and the Warriors are proud to have had them all part of family.

Stay tuned for next year’s schedule!
