In the first round of the Meredith Cup playoffs, the Warriors battled with the Cornwall Celtics in a best of 5 series.

The series would prove to be a test of endurance as games 1 through 4 would all occur in 48 hours – two in Whitby on Saturday, and two in Cornwall on Sunday.

After a tough series, game 5 was needed. True to the competitiveness nature of the series, game 5 needed overtime. The Warriors were able to come out on top and finish off the series 3-2.

Both Craig Johannson and Ethan Corby were tough between the pipes, and played a key factor in the Warriors success this series. Ty Taylor and Julian Mosier each added 16 points in the series win, and were able to score and distribute in each game. Max McPherson and Adam Smellie were huge in transition, with solid defence and contributed on the score sheet as well.

The Warriors will be taking on the Nepean Knights in the second round of the playoffs. Stay tuned for game times and dates.
