With a victory this past Sunday over their Durham rival, the Clarington Shamrox, the Warriors have clinched first overall for the entire league. With 28 points on the season, the Warriors moved ahead of the pack, including Brantford, the Warriors in the West, who are poised to finish the season with 26 points.

The Warriors captured top spot with a 12-9 victory at Rickard Arena late Sunday night. The Shamrox got out to an early 5-4 lead after 20 minutes, but the Warriors battled back, and cemented the win late in the 3rd with two late goals. Rookie of the year candidate Mike Andersson had a great night, finishing with 5 points (3G, 2A), and was able to get the Warriors offence rolling late in the first. Devin Gilligan was able to add 4 points of his own (3G, 1A) in the win. Matt Shand continued his incredible point streak, adding another 8 points (2G, 6A) to his total, putting him a mere 5 points away from the 100 point mark. Defenceman Wyatt Craik and John Wheller both had huge goals: Craik with the Warriors first, and Wheller with the game winner. Owen Agnew also added 3 assists from the back end, and won a ludicrous 90% of his draws. Zack Hubbard was solid in the net for the Warriors, and added an assist of his own in the win. The Warriors have two games left in the 2019 regular season, both going this week.
