Two home games this past weekend found the Warriors going 1-1. After beating Huntsville twice in previous meetings, Whitby came out on the losing end to the Hawks, 9-7. Whitby struggled to score in the 3rd period, and couldn’t hold off Huntsville’s offence. Austin Tracogna was the leading offensive threat with 5 points (2G, 3A). Wyatt Craik ended the game with 3 assists. Darren Elliott, Chris McDonald, and Keegan White all ended with 1 goal and 1 helper. Matt Andersson and Joey Bryant gathered the remaining goals for the Warriors, while David Cormack, Connor Scott, Matt Abramczuk and Jacob Twohey all had 1 assist. For the full box score, click here.

The Warriors were able to turn it around on Saturday, however, and defeated the Gloucester Griffins 9-2. The Warriors suffered some bad injuries during the 60 minutes, but were able to hang tough and come out with the W. The scoring was well spread out, with Andersson leading the way with 4 points (1G, 3A). Other players who found the back of the net were Craik (2G, 1A), White (2G), McDonald (1G,2A), and Cormack (1G,1A). Elliott and Mitch Harnum each grabbed a goal as well. Adam Heinrichs (1A), Twohey (2A), Liam Scott (1A), Devin Gilligan (1A) and Tracogna (1A) also made the gamesheet. The full box score can be found here.

The Whitby Warriors are nearing the end of the season with 4 games remaining on the regular season schedule. The team travels east to battle against Gloucester and Cornwall this weekend, before taking on the Shamrocks in Clarington on June 29, and rounding out the season at home July 2 against Cornwall.
