Another 1-1 Weekend

The May long weekend found the Warriors back in Peterborough for the final meeting with the Lakers this season. The short-handed Warriors fought hard, but in the end, were defeated by a score of 13-3. Austin Tracogna and Matt Andersson each had a goal and an assist. Wyatt Craik also had a goal, while David Cormack and Darren Elliott each had a helper. The full box score can be found here.

The Warriors then traveled to Barrie to battle in the Bombers’ home opener. After a commanding first period effort, the Warriors got out slow and fell to a 9-8 deficit at the end of the second. However, a strong third period helped the Warriors hold off Barrie for a 14-10 win. Cormack led the team with 8 points (3G, 5A). Craik potted 4 goals and a helper, while Tracogna had 3 goals, 2 assists. Other goals were scored by Andersson (1G, 3A), Chris McDonald (1G, 2A), Keegan White (1G) and AP Devin Gilligan (1G). Darren Elliott had 3 assists, Jacob Twohey and Taylor Welsh had 2, and Liam Scott had 1. Full box score can be found here.

Both goalies had solid outings in net.

Up next, the Warriors take on the Shamrocks on Wednesday and Hawks on Friday, both at McKinney arena, 8pm start time.
