Split Weekend

This past weekend saw the Warriors took on the Peterborough Lakers and the Cornwall Celtics. The Warriors were able to finish the weekend going 1-1. In a real nail bitter against Peterborough, the Warriors lost 7-6 with a Peterborough goal late in the 3rd period. Whitby goals were scored by Matty Andersson (2G, 1A), David Cormack (2G), Wyatt Craik (1G, 3A), and Keegan White (1G). Other players who gathered assists were Chris McDonald with 3, and Tyler Heinrichs, Jacob Twohey, Liam Scott, James Grant and Austin Tracogna with 1 assist each. The Cornwall game gave the Warriors their first home win, beating the Celtics by a score of 12-7. David Cormack exploded for 7 points with 5 goals and 2 assists, while Austin Tracogna picked up 5 with 2 goals and 3 assists. The other goals were scored by Keegan White (1G), Josh Robbins (1G, 2A), Wyatt Craik (1G, 3A), Jacob Twohey (1G), and Liam Scott (1G, 1A). Chris McDonald had 4 helpers, James Grant had 2, and Darren Elliott and Jake Wilson had 1 each. Taylor Welsh also grabbed an assist while having a great game between the pipes. The Warriors are back in action this weekend with a game in Peterborough Friday night at 8, and in Barrie Saturday night at 8.
