Robertson Leads Warriors in Redemption Game

Mitch Robertson did all he could do to help the Whitby Warriors get some redemption against the Innisfil Wolfpack.   Robertson exploded for seven goals and added an assist to lead the Warriors to a 13-4 win on Thursday night.  Only a week ago the Warriors lost, to date their only loss, in Innisfil 3-2.

The Warriors came out of the gate and midway through the first period had already matched their output while in Stroud last Tuesday.  The power play on this night was hitting their stride going 5 of 11.  Other scorers for Whitby included McNein Hewitt, Kyle Harper (his first as a Junior), Conner Scott, Nathaniel Kerstens, Dylan Johnston, and Dakota Kettrick.  Jacob Mark was in net for the win.

The Warriors will now endure two critical games in their schedule.  On Saturday (June 2nd) they will travel to Peterborough to face the Lakers, then return home to face the unbeaten Clarington Shamrox.  The Clarington game will be held outdoors at Peel Street Park.  Whitby sits tied atop the Central division with Clarington at 10 points, (although the Shamrox have a game in hand) and 6 points ahead of the Lakers.
