Lakers Capitalize on Warriors

The Peterborough Lakers made the best of their chances, and the Whitby Warriors did not in their final regular season meeting on Tuesday June 14.  For their efforts the Lakers came out on top with an 8-2 win in Lakefield.  The game was closer than the score might indicate with Peterborough holding a 2-1 first intermission lead. 

But in the second period the home team got the upper hand, burying their chances while the Warriors struggled to score.  After two the Lakers led 6-2.  In the third, things got a little rough, with the two teams having only played just over a week ago.  Peterborough scored two more on their way to the win.

The Warriors will now have a couple of days off before returning to the floor in their first ever outdo0r game.  The innaugural “Warrior Outdoor Classic” will take place a Peel Street Park in Whitby on Saturday June 18th.  Game time is 7pm, and the Mimico Mountaineers will be the guests that night.  Admisison wil lbe a voluntary donation.  All admissions will be donated to For The Love Of A Child, a local charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with special needs and their families.

There will be a barbecue, 50/50, popcorn, and much more, so be sure to come on out and watch some great lacrosse.
