Warriors Get Back On Track In Mimico

The Whitby Warriors exploded for five goals in the third period to defeat the Mimico Mountaineers on Monday night (May 30).  The Warriors held leads of 3-2 after one, and 4-3 after two periods.  In the third however, the Warriors outscored the Mountaineers 5-1 to wrap up their third win in four outings by a final of 9-4.

Leading the way for Whitby was Tyler Gilligan who scored four times on the night.  Brett Kingston and Matt Hurren each scored twice with Rylee McKinnon scoring once.  Kyle Ford went the distance in net and got his third win of the season.

The Warriors will now prepare for a big road weekend when they face the 2nd place Clarington Shamrox on Friday night (8pm at Garnett Rickard Arena) and then travel to Lakefield to face the 1st place Peterborough Lakers on Saturday night at 7pm.
